2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Was The Last C6 to Come Off The Line

It’s the end of an era, the sixth generation Corvette came of the line yesterday! The car was a White 427 Convertible, it has a 7.0L V8 built by non other than Tadge Juechter. He is the chief engineer of Corvette and one of the guys behind the new Corvette Stingray. This particular car will not be available for purchase, it will be preserved at the General Motors’ Heritage Collection outside of Detroit.

When the car was completed everyone stopped and had a small little ceremony to commemorate the car that marks the end of an era. The people at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky have a lot of pride in building America’s favorite sports car. After 30 minutes of celebrating the workers went back and starting retooling and assembling the line to have it ready to build the C7 Corvette. They will take a short break and start assembling Stingray’s for their debut at dealerships this fall.
